Thanks to the long-term collaboration with the manufacturers of the automotive market, we know their needs well. This is why we have created a line of nitrogen gas springs and accessories that combine performance, flexibility and optimization. If used correctly, Bordignon gas springs have a life of over 200,000,000 mm of total stroke under normal working conditions.

Bordignon nitrogen gas springs have always been built with single mechanical components (“monolithic”) of high thickness, to guarantee the integrity of the product and maximum safety for the user even in the most extreme conditions of incorrect use (collisions, etc. .). They are made with a safety system in case of over-stroke or excessive internal pressure: the metal wall of the body is thinner at its base and it deforms in such critical conditions, allowing the nitrogen gas spring to be discharged safely. And they are made with a safety system in case of piston rod uncontrolled return: they vent the gas to the atmosphere – thereby depressurizing the gas spring – in the event that the maximum permitted piston rod speed is exceeded.

The components of Bordignon gas springs are assembled by means of threads, to ensure the maximum possible safety. Threaded couplings are standard on high pressure equipment around the world, such as water cutting nozzles and ultra-high pressure vessels (~ 10000 bar).
